Just A Tip
My reso teach and the band she's in are in town July 16th, I think it is.
The Palms, in Winters. Here's a note from a great reso player:
"Hi everyone! Mountain Laurel is once again appearing at the Palms Playhouse (in Winters, just west of Davis). Last year we played at the Palms and had a great crowd and a wonderful time. Come help us celebrate summer and show your support for local musicians!
Mountain Laurel is a 5-person bluegrass band based in the Grass Valley/Nevada City area (with of course the exception of moi...still a valley girl). You can find out more about us at our website, www.mountainlaurel.us. We play traditional and progressive bluegrass, with a sprinkling of original stuff thrown in. We've been working on a bunch of new stuff, including some new original tunes by Paul and me.
We play Saturday July 16, 2005. Showtime is 8:30 pm.
Tickets are $15.
You can get information about ticket sales and directions at the Palms website:
http://www.palmsplayhouse.com/homepage.html.
That's Kathy Barwick, formerly of The All Girl Boys (BerryFesters Main Stage) and now Mountain Laurel.
Their homegrown mix of train and mine songs are great, and she's penned some new stuff with the banjer player I haven't heard yet.
HowdyVille, I KNOW ya don't come this way if ya can avoid it, but, if yer headed this way, we'll put you up for the night as long as room lasts on the floors for bags, and air mattresses!!!! And, we'll cover the bbq. N some cocktails, too. Oink if yer comin!!!
Come in Friday, stay for the show, and we'll send yer butts out the door early Sunday after breakfast. F N B is on us. Tix n gas are on you. First come, first passed out or up till dawn, guest preference.
BERNIE, n Larue, as Cuz would put it. ;-)

Camp Miss It
Yep...there we were...right smack in the middle of downtown Kateville. Bruce was MCing the Arlo stage behind us, the neighbors were the radio crew and the Love Choir. We jammed all day long broken only by main stage or Arlo stage acts. Can't talk, coming down.
