That Phool Maverick
We get one free political post every cycle, right?
That Phool Maverick’s Got The Blues
Woke up scared dis moahnin,
Had a Maverick at my doah.
Woke up scared dis moahnin,
Had a Maverick at my doah.
Phool had his caddy,
Parked on my front poach.
Maverick said ‘I can’t see’,
Woncha please show me the light.
Maverick said ‘I can’t see’,
Woncha please show me the light.
So I showed him my pointy boottip,
Now I feel alright.
But the Maverick wouldn’t go,
No the Maverick just wouldn’t, go away.
Said he was looking for his dignity,
Phool couldn’t find it, anywhere.
Said he was looking for his dignity,
It was gone, into thin air.
I told Maverick he let Rove take it,
Phool broke down right there.
I told that phool Maverick,
This was all his own ugly mess.
Yea I told that phool Maverick,
You won’t never find no success.
You gone and badmouthed a good man,
And better men have died for less.
But the Maverick wouldn’t go,
No the Maverick just wouldn’t, go away.
Little phool stood there cryin,
Hopin to come inside.
The phool cryin on my front porch,
Lord he was hurtin so, inside.
I told that Maverick phool,
It’s time for your last ride.
So go on down you Maverick,
Don’t you come around here no moah.
Yeah go on down you Maverick,
Go away from my front doah.
Cuz you sure ain’t no maverick.
You’s just a mean old whore.
But the Maverick wouldn’t go,
No the Maverick just wouldn’t, go away.
That Maverick had a partner,
She made him dance and sing.
That Maverick had a partner,
She made them rallies ring.
But that poor phool Maverick,
She left him lyin in the ring.
Now let me tell you people,
Let me sing you this here song.
They’s hard times a comin,
And they might just stay here long.
But don’t be electin no Maverick
Just cuz your world done gone wrong.
And that phool Maverick fade away,
He just upped and fade away.
That Phool Maverick’s Got The Blues
