Hey Larue.....Skwirrell!!!!

Pictures Are Good

Mount Goddard, at 13,568, puts the Lake Martha at about 13,000, maybe only 12,500. No fish, there. In '73. Dang.
It's wierd up there, that high.

This is Hell For Sure Pass, 11,000 or so.

And this is Devil's Punchbowl a place I've been to twice. The spot the guy is on, is the right side of the lake (if yer comin in from the left, which is the NORTH), which is behind him, which is east. A BIG bowl, of water, punched out of the Sierra Granite.

No fish, there, either, for me in my time.

It was wierd at times, up there.
My life on the line a few times.

Guess it's like your life on the water Dave.
Every moment might be yer last.

Here's to the soft meadows we hike, and the quiet seas we sail.

Pictures? I got Pictures round 2

A couple from the trip to Stillwater last weekend. Too little visibilty to dive, so we BBQ'd, hung out, had a cocktail or two, sailed home.
Good Timuh!

Pictures? I Got Pictures.

Funny, but some how I was chasing a story about  THIS thing.

And I caught that one fork of of the San Joaquin originates at Thousand Islands Lake.
I been there. Lots. Then. It was a Tuolumne Meadows jumping off station, as are many trails.

Then, I read, another fork of the San Joaquin originates in Lake Martha, outside and east of Fresno. South of Blackcap Basin.

Yeah, I been there, TOO!

N I lollygagged around and found all these maps, and I started to trace places I been, walked thru, low and high.

And then, I came across this  and phreaked. I've walked most every step these guys did. This is my old turf.

The pics are sweet. Shows ya what it's like up there past 10,000ft, up at 12,000ft.

It's different. 'Specially if yer hiking it with yer life on yer back.

Sigh. I miss being young then. Man that was bitchen. *G*
