Here Then, Gone Now

The Pic? Yer Looking at BlackCap Basin, Sierra Nevada. Well, north and south of it, too . . . . I walked all that once, left t orright. Ok, not all at once, but, I been there, done that.

"It's pouring rain right now," said Juanita Holley, a spokeswoman for Caltrans at the agency's station in the Nevada County town of Kingvale on Interstate 80, where the elevation is 6,300 feet. "All the snow we got on Sunday is melting," Holley said. "We're expecting rain for the whole week."

But, there's an UPSIDE to all this, Larue thinks!

Tuesday's storm will also result in heavy surf advisories for the coast. "It will be very dangerous, and we're advising people to stay away," said Diana Henderson, a National Weather Service forecaster in Monterey. Henderson said swells are predicted at 13 to 17 feet Tuesday and 17 to 21 feet Wednesday. Not everyone takes the agency's surf advisories to heart, Henderson acknowledged.
"Some people around here use them as an excuse to grab their boards and go surfing," she said. "But the risk is very high, and you don't want to be anywhere near the surf unless you're an extremely strong swimmer."

Yeah, you shoulda been here 'yesterday', mate . . . . . ;-)
