Condolences

Per Zeke's post in another thread, condolences from Bernie N Larue and best thoughts to the Peaden Family and all involved.

If Martin is an example of what his father did with his time on this planet, then he done good work. Godspeed and rest in peace.

Comments:
Well, we planted him in the proper Southern Baptist style and tradition. Smoked brisket and Chinese slaw at the dinner at the church before the service. The Pastor even put through a word of recruitment towards the USMC of which my dearest departed father was a WWII vet. My aunt Iris from L.A. (lower Alabama) wouldn't look into the casket "Because it just don't look like Brother". Plenty of fine people telling my Mom to call if she ever needed anything and actually meaning it. Two cops on Harleys cleared the way through the northwest section of town. 12 cars in procession. White Caddies for the hearse and two limos. People pulling over, intersections halted, pedestrians taking off their hats...The tented graveside out on a hill in the prairie with a new development way to the north...

3.2% sodie pop beer, can't throw a brick in any direction and not knock out a window in a Baptist church, the looks about the locals as if an episode of COPS could break out at any time...NCAA tourney in town (go Pokes), Red Dirt Rangers next Friday, NAIA baseball every dang where, I highly recommend the "Catfish Cabin" for your Okie dining pleasures. All you can eat catfish (whole and fillets) baked salmon, deviled crabs (in shell) boiled shrimp, boiled crawdads, baked whitefish, crab salad, crab caserole, frog legs, fried okra, potatoes au gratin, salad bar (not fried) bananna pudding (not fried either) apple cobbler... $11.95. On the whole, I'd rather be in Philadelphia.

Scarrrry.....sounds like it was a nice way to send pops off. Best to the fam. Ya know...they had the baked whitefish in Michigan when I was there, I had the crab salad, crab cakes, crab casarole, et al..11.95? Is that the early bird special? How DO you fry a salad bar? Syracuse gets beat by the Catamounts, UCLA gets beat by who? Just got home from haulin' the harbor patrol boat, and started watchin' the Stanford game. Go Cardinal! Hope all is well, and did those white caddies have the blue tinted windows? I love those.
