Don Q's

The Wilders plus The Crooked Jades
Wed. March 9 at 8pm Tickets $8 adv./$10 door SEATED CONCERT - All AGES
THE WILDERS ARE THE MISWEST'S RAGING HONKY-TONKIN' STRING BAND ANSWER TO THE WAYBACKS. The Wilders, according to Nate Lipkins, writer for Seattle's Drunk By Noon: "This Kansas City quartet live up to the fiercer definition of their moniker. They play like the barn is on fire, the horses are gone, and they don't give a damn. With fiddle, banjo, Dobro, mandolin, guitars, and bass, they breathe fiery life into the songs of the Louvin Brothers, Monroe Brothers, Maddox Brothers & Rose, and, of course, the Stanley Brothers--hell, nearly every set of brothers except the Smothers--played like a high-wire family act. The Wilders aren't related, but if their playing is any indication, I bet they fight like they are." www.wilderscountry.com/ The Crooked Jades "Old-time string music that might appeal as much to the pierced generation as to their great grandparents, the Crooked Jades are a band of West Coast pickers with equal parts attitude and respect. They transform a form of music that thrives on energy by replacing the coal with musical nukes, along the way evoking the music's original purpose by making the listener want to get up and dance." Chicago Tribune, "Best CDs of 2002" Dave Royko. www.crookedjades.com

Maybe I will go...Morgan Hill was fun!

Sure, get there around 7ish...Grab a taco at Vallarte across the street...Beer or two at the show. Take it easy. Bruce raved about the headliners and I just love that old timey music. There's two different Crooked Jades lineups.

What Timuh?

Martin says he's picking me up at Pleasure Point around 6:30, come on bye for a margarita beforehand if ya wanna....afternoon cocktails on the veranda?
