Ol' Moonpie checkin in here...

Today was a beautifully sunny ealry March day on the central Californian coast, with a slight but continuous breeze blowing out of the northwest that reminded you it actually was still 'winter'. But alas, with the swell showing up on que at the World Famous "Maverick's" surf break located just North of Half Moon Bay at Pidgeon Point, the throngs of nearly 35,000+ surfing fans inundated the small town of Moss Beach all vying for that best-view of the incredible 20-30 foot waves that were keeping the competitors from near and far on their toes to match witts with mother nature and surf the monster waves of Mavericks.

ok, ok...it was sunny & warm, got a good view of some nice 20'+ faces with these iddy bitty little surfers scootin' 'cross em (note: bring binoculars!) Great lunch at The Distillery, & a nice drive home. Ahhhhhhhh....

35,000 invaded Moss Beach? Is the Distillary still standing? The SF Gate link I posted had some good pics. Wow. Just, wow!
