Sometime in the early part of'82, one of the first shows here was Zappa and The Mothers at the Santa Monica Civic. It was the Titties and Beer tour. So after the first song they raise this line behind the stage with underwear hangin' on it. Zappa says "Hey we're makin' a quilt on this tour!"

The next hour was spent listenin' to the Mothers rock, and watchin' the female concert goers wriggle out of their undies and throw 'em at Frank.

He'd pick up a couple....say thanks...and then wail some incredible guitar licks, and of course, crack up the audience with some witty reparte.
