He gave up a leadoff triple to Curtis Granderson and then a ground single up the middle to Placido Polanco, causing consternation and worry and impromptu conjugations of the verb "suck."

Outside of Steinstra and Ratto, they ain't much left of the writers I loved from the early 70's on.
