Camp Howdy

Swisher and Thomas are choking. That's OK. They're not used to winning in October. Scutaro and Jimenez need to hit, Jimenez needs to field, we're missing our starting middle infield, I think Kotsay's hurt, I know Chavez is hurt (quads, thighs and could be an arm) Bradley's kicking butt and he needs help. The A's are like this all year. They don't hit well except in the clutch and if they fail, they fail big. In the first game, in the first 6 innings, they left 8 men on base AND had 3 double plays. There's still hope if they can string together some hits and get into the Tiger's bullpen.
 

Yeah, Lyon and the other guy keep talking about the number of double plays they've hit into all season, and the first two games have certainly seen more than a few. A shame they don't hit and run but, you go to the playoffs with the team you have, and they didn't hit n run all year long . . . . as YOU are fond of saying, in playoff time, it's fundie ball . . . team with the fewest turnovers/mistakes, good pitching and ability to move runners along wins . . . . hey, we got out of the first round . . . yay.
