Oman Gulf Cyclone?

Brother Tub, you of all things weather . . .

By the time you read this, the event will have passed.

What damage to land will it have done?

What of our naval fleet in its way?

MOST unusual.

Godspeed to our armed forces in THIS harm's way.
Wish they were all home.

Comments:
It is not THAT the wind is blowing it is WHAT the wind is blowing. 12-15ft surge will just tear the shit out of the storage facilities and really screw up naval ops. There's going to be a big surge but it looks like the system is getting sheared away and the winds are dropping from 160kt to 105kts. Here's the latest track https://metocph.nmci.navy.mil/jtwc/warnings/io0207sa.gif The USN will keep their boats around the northern edge of the gulf on the other side of the horn or in the Med. Here's the latest CV locations http://www.gonavy.jp/CVLocation.html

Thanks, you make this stuff look easy . . . me all the science I don't understand, I can't even read the pictures at times!!!

Glad the forces are somewhat safe, can't say the same about the local civvie landlubbers poor souls.
