Thanks Larue, now I have something to shop for to go with the Alaskan Halibut we've been gettin'. Never really been into the Rieslings, or the Gewurtziminers, but hey, it's a new year, a new prez, I got a new set of Arcoroc wine glasses for Christmas, why not?
Danged halibut from anywhere is over $12 a lb (all frozen) here in the stores. That Alaskan Halibut is some FINE white fish. You a lucky Wave, Dave . . I'm not big on the Gewartz's, that's REALLY sweet stuff . . . . Love my SUPER chilled Reislings, though. From WA, Chateau St. Jean. Sometimes as little as $7 a bottle in Safeways and such . . . good stuff!!
Know you like to play in the galley, try some Reisling with lime juice and avacado (puree avacado with some whipping cream and fold it in after hollendiase is made) in a hollendaise.
Goes GREAT on baked or broiled/grilled halibut. Even better if you can brown the hollendaise on the halibut under a broiler for service.
