Mekong River

What should be all water. The Chinese closed the locks upstream, so there was barely any water in the river.
Out of work 100' longboats.
Farther up, there was still enough water for them to get through.
Sunrise from my balcony. You can see how bad the smoke was getting.

Comments:
Three Gorges Dam is a work of wonder, but a disaster for the Mekong downstream.

I know that river, I've kept up on it's life.

Along with glacier melt in the Himalaya's, the great rivers of the Orient and Mideast are dying from the dams.

Nothing new, happened here in US. I don't have to tell any Howdian's, that.

Great pics, Dave. Wish I still had slides my family had from the 50's n 60's. Of the places you've been.

Lord what 40 years can do. To a people, to a land, o a country.
