Thaton, Northern Thailand
Wat Thaton, the 5 level Buddhist Meditation Center near the Myanmar border.
During the New Years celebration, every night at dusk, all the people from the town head to the top, fill up all those chairs to watch the sun set, and then eat(octopus on a stick), drink (no alcohol), and be merry till the wee hours. Cool music too.
The little Buddha was about half way up to the first level. About 3 kilometers to the top.

I was thinkin' Bob's Big Boy, but I was hankerin' for some red meat. The chalet lookin' place behind him was where we had the water buffalo filet mignon. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... water buffalo!
