There's A Train Leaves Here This Morning

I been burning this tune for a year or two now on my mp3 player and on my 'puter done by Duffey and Seldom Scene from "Act Two".

But alas youtube don't got it w/Duffey/Scene. That I can find . . . .

What youtube DID teach me, it's a Gene Clark (Byrds) tune, with a honor credit to Bernie Leadon for some reason. Dillard N Clark covered it, but no youtube. I never knew that.

So, here's Bernie Leadon and Early Acoustic Eagles (can't phucking BELIEVE I'm posting Eagles) doin the tune. I can't believe it don't suck, either.

Here's McGuinn N Gene Clark doin it:

I miss Duffey and Charlie Waller . . . sniff.

Comments:
Got to pick Billy Flynn up from sleepin' on the floor of Bernie's hotel room after a very long night(even longer story!) at a Nitty Gritty/New Grass show in of all places, Costa Mesa. Nice Guy.

Got a great pic of Me and Flynny standin' around a washtub full of Heineken with Pat, Sam, John, Bela, and the Nitty Gritty boys, including Bernie. Good Timuh!

Howdy Dave, great story!

I honestly can't believe how good that original Eagles lineup version of the song is.

I don't the Eagles pics to name them in the vid, do you?

I'll assume one is Bernie Leadon and one is Glenn Fry. I don't think I see Timmeh B Schmidt . . . no Jackson Browne? No Joe Walsh? I don't know . . . would love to ID them in the vid . . .

You n the Flynny's sure rode a large saddle at times . . *G*

And I'll say that Duffey and Seldom Scene do the absolute best interpretation of the song than any I've heard or viewed.

If any howdypups want the mp3 of it, email me.

If ya don't have my email, ask Martin or say so here . . .

Love that song with Duffey . . . . sigh.

Oh, nice work Gyro's Gme 1. Torture as usual.

*G*

WTF another late inning sitch with one ouit, bags loaded and Andres Ground Ball Torres at the plate in a lead off spoty and not a fucking bunt.

Since when the fucking fuck did lead off hitters with bags loaded and one out in a tight game NOT bunt or squeeze?

Killin me. Just Killin me. Close games. They is 'fucking 'SPOSED to lend themselves to fundy bezballs!!

Just ask the fuckin Dodgers from '58-whenever thru the 60's.

They knew how to win close games, they beat the shit outta the Giants for decades with fundy balls.

Harumph. Fire Bochy. After the post season, that is . . .

Left to Right...

Randy Meisner, who played bass before Timmy B, Don Henley, Bernie, and Glenn Fry.

Weird thing is no Don Felder. He played lead geetar. Though he did join after the first LP.

Must be really early Eagles.

Very Cool.

The buzz sucks, but the boys could sing.

And those first four years of Strawberry as 'Bill Flynn plus 1' were pretty freakin' cool!

One of my favorite memories was chattin' backstage with John Hartford, drinkin' those damn Heiny's that Sam had to have, and smokin' a fatty while the boys were gettin' ready to go on.

Wow, ok. Meissner and Henley I spaced on, shoulda knowd.

I got Leadon right to his face had no idea which one Fry was . . *G*

Wow to the clip . . . I know them boyz! Easily an early fav lineup of mine, and I am NOT a big Eagles fan. But 7 Bridges Road is one of them songs, and that 5 is one of them 5's . . . glorious, just glorious harmonies.

Thanks Dave.

*G*
