Happy Turkey Basting back at you & your's brotha! I'm typing in from Myrtle Beach, SC where I'm visiting my folks & family at Pop's "winter home". Pretty nice here on the right coast this week, weather's about 65-75, & the beach is nice. Heading up to Winston Salem to see my Bro's place this weekend, & might actually get over to Ashville & the Smokeys to catch some authentic bluegrass if time allows, should be cool.

Tis a very differnt world here, let me tell ya! Lot's of "Red Coats" & interesting political dialogue, & I'm doing my best to keep outta the discussion!

Anyway, stay warm dry & happy, eat some turkey sammiches this week & keep the sunny side up!

UPDATE:

Unbelievable! My sister asks me this morning if I was aware of the "Bluegrass Festival" happening "Today" in Myrtle Beach...low & behold, the 41st Annual Myrtle Beach Bluegrass Festival is happneing at the local convention center...so, I took it upon myself to ditch the family for the day & go check it out.

So glad I did! Needless to say, in a matter of a couple of hours I got to see Russel Moore & 3rd Time out, The Grascals, & then Jesse McReynolds & his Virginia Boys! OMG!!!! & if you have not heard "Songs of The Grateful Dead by Jesse McReynolds, well then you're all in for a big fat happy surprise!! (look it up!)

I managed to get videos of "Black Muddy River" & "Deep Elum Blues" on Colleen's dig camera, so when I get back I'll have Martin help me out in posting them here. It was quite a treat! Should've seen the South Carolina Bluehair/grass response to Jesse when he told them he was working out some Grateful Dead tunes!!! *LMFAO*!!!

Too freakin cool! Made my entire trip back here worth while. Even bumped into James King, who remebered me from Parkfield...talk about a small world.

Welp, just wanted to let ya's know Bluegrass is still alive & well here in the South. & I'm having fun as usual.

So, just shut up & pick dammit!

carry on.... :)
